The new FISH-i Africa publication Illegal Fishing? Evidence and Analysis was launched on the 15 March, 2017. An event was held at Chatham House in London ahead of the 10th International Illegal Unreported and Unregulated Fishing Forum.
Based on the characteristics and evidence of over thirty investigations into fisheries operations, the new FISH-i Africa report sheds light on the scale and complexity of illegal activities in the fisheries sector of the Western Indian Ocean and highlights challenges and solutions for coastal State enforcement officers.
The FISH-i Africa Task Force is made up of Comoros, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, Somalia, and Tanzania, and is supported by a Coordinating Team made up of Stop Illegal Fishing, NFDS and TMT. More information can be found here.
